At Relay For Life events, no one faces cancer alone. We come together every year at more than 2,500 Relay events around the country to support and celebrate survivors and caregivers.

Each Relay has special events and activities (many throughout the year) just for survivors and their caregivers, so they can connect with others and know there is a strong support system available to them.

Survivors register for free and are invited to bring their loved ones in a celebration of their strength for the Survivors lap and Survivorship dinner.

Every year at Relay for Life we have a Luminaria Ceremony. A Luminaria Ceremony is a ceremony of remembrance and hope. Luminaria are bags with names written on them of those who have fought or are currently fighting the battle against cancer. Whether they have won their battle, currently fighting, or have lost their life because of cancer, Luminaria’s are symbols of Hope. It is a time to grieve for those we have lost, to reflect on our own or loved ones’ cancer experience, and to find hope that tomorrow holds the promise of a cancer-free world. LVC Colleges Against Cancer is asking for pictures of cancer survivors, lost loved ones, and those currently battling cancer for the Luminaria Ceremony slideshow (photos of pets are welcome). Please email photos to lvc.cac@gmail.com with the subject line Luminaria Photos.
